About

I’m Blair (she/her/they/them). I’m an Assistant Professor of Political Science at University of Alberta and a Fellow at the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute (Amii).

🔎 My research applies a trans lens to address challenges of power, participation, and justice in AI governance systems.

🎓 I teach students, professionals, executives, public servants, and communities about AI policy & ethics.

🎨 I create experimental sci-fi and glitch art that explores frictions between gender, technology, and regulation.

🐕 I have a dog named Huxley. She’s a very good dog.

I recently completed my PhD at University of Toronto’s Faculty of Information. My PhD research was funded by a SSHRC Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship and three Ontario Graduate Scholarships.
